Cyspera is a topical pigment corrector formulated with cysteamine 5%. It is a safe and effective depigmentation agent used as a first line non-hydroquinone treatment for melanoma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and other hyperpigmentation concerns. Perfect for the skin of colour population.
How does Cyspera work?
The active ingredient of Cyspera is cysteamine 5%, which is an antioxidant that helps to lighten the pigmentation in the superficial layers of the skin and inhibits the production of pigment in the skin.
Is Cyspera safe?
Cyspera has a very good safety profile:
- anti-tumour
- anti-carcinogenic
- anti-mutagenic
- non-melanocytotoxic
- non-photosensitising
- Well tolerated for long-term use.
Is Cyspera a prescription only medication?
No, however you can only purchase through clinics stocking the product.
How do I use Cyspera?
- Apply Cyspera on reseted skin. You can even use Cyspera over your make-up. If you need to was your skin, wait 1 hour before application.
This reduces the incidence of skin sensitivity - Use a pea sized amount to apply a thin layer on the skin, leave on for 15 minutes.
- Remove by washing the area with a gentle cleanser, and gently pat the area dry.
- Apply moisturiser to maintain your skin hydration. Note: if you are using retinol and your skin is used to the product you can continue using it. In this instance I would use Cyspera in the mornings. If you are using retinol and you are experiencing side effects (redness, skin sensitivity, flaking skin) do not use Cyspera.
